I've wondered how many women felt the same way as Samantha.

In this generation sexual inhibitions seem to no longer exist. You could have a boyfriend, a girlfriend or both; all at the same time. 

If men act like "dicks" then women turn to electronic devices or each other.  It seems that dick has lost the golden crown.
