With the recent murder of D12 front man Proof making headlines worldwide, you can't help but think about the violence that has plagued the hip hop community. The earliest incident involving DJ Scott La Rock to Proof being the latest casualty...not to forget Notorious BIG, Tupac Shakur and Jam Master Jay.  Many wonder whether these incidents are simply life imitating the art and the rhymes of these MC's.  Do you believe that these situations spoken of in rhymes, are being carried out?  

No matter how you feel about the situation, we are minus one more soldier in the game.  Not only that, someone's family member is no longer with them.  

How is it we can curb the violent acts that effect our community?  One important thing to remember is that violence is never the answer to any conflict.  Self defense is one thing,  Hating is another. 

We need to start educating ourselves and our children to find other ways of resolving conflicts.  Their displeasure or dislike for someone does not have to end in tragedy.

I hope that can happen for Hip Hop's sake.

Proof leaves behind a family, a group and a community that will not forget his legacy.
