DCMM: What are your stats:
At this very moment my stats are 34-26-41 1/2 *laughing*
DCMM: Current Project featured in/or working on:
Candy: I have a couple of calendar projects lined up for the very near future and I'm meeting with some people to HOPEFULLY be featured in a major publication. I'm just going to keep my fingers crossed.
DCMM: Tell us about yourself
Candy: I'm simple, really laid back and I LOVE to laugh and have fun. I'm originally from New Jersey and I'm a military brat so I've lived in LOTS of different places. People say that on sight I'm a little intimidating, well that's just a front! I'm very easy to get a long with. For fun I just like to chill. Going out and hanging with the girls is ALWAYS fun but at the same time taking it down and watching a movie is cool to.
DCMM: Tell us about why you chose modeling:
Candy: I bet all chicks say "People always said I should model" *laughing* so I guess I'll use to the same line because it's the truth. Men always say it for obvious reasons, the whole "urban glamour" is on FIRE right now....so I guess all the girls with a cute face and the right measurements should get it while it's hot.
DCMM: What's the best thing about modeling to you?
Candy: I love the outcome. Modeling is not as EASY as it might look. It's HARD work, a lot harder than I
thought. So basically after you've sucked in your gut until your stomach hurts and held crazy poses until your body aches and the NEXT day when you see some HOT images. It's all worth it.
DCMM: What's one thing you could do without when it comes to the modeling industry?
Candy: The one thing I could do without is the exploitation. There are a lot of phony "sell you a dream" photographers out there. Many young girls are falling for the "nudity will get you noticed" dream when it's untrue. I wish photographers would just keep it real. Not everyone "knows" someone that can get you to the top. It doesn't work that way! I've seen a lot of girls fall into the trap and get hurt. Thankfully, I have some FRIENDS I ask about things that I'm unsure of. They keep me well informed...
DCMM: Do you feel like there are enough opportunities for models in this area?
Candy: No, but at the same time it's not the area that will get you noticed, it's how well you market yourself. If you want to succeed in this business you have to take any and ALL available avenues to get yourself there. Of course there are more model calls and promo gigs in larger areas like New York and Miami, but if you live in DC (or any smaller area) and you want to make it, you have to GRIND that much harder. 10 times harder ... because the resources are limited.
DCMM: Do you workout?
Candy: LOL! I need to. Cellulite and guts are not a 'models' friend. Not that I have those things but if I don't watch it I could. I have tapes and weights and stuff but I have to admit ... I'm LAZY!
DCMM: Any shout outs, advice to other models or thoughts in closing?
Candy: A shout out? HA! I'd like to give a shout out to my beautiful friends Ki & Torri. They're grinding it trying to make it in this modeling world. I'd also like to shout out the rest of my gorgeous friends Roz, Litsa, Nicole, Mint, Marquia, Krystal, Tiara, Amy and Mecca. I promise you dudes I have some AMAZINGLY beautiful friends. My advice to other models is don't let anyone tell you that you can't make it. If you grind HARD and put yourself out there to be seen you can do anything. Just keep a positive attitude and don't let anyone take advantage of you. That's all from me, and PLEASE be on the look out for www.candynicole.com coming REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL soon. xoxo |
